If happiness is a fundamental human goal, why stop there?
The International Day of Happiness is observed throughout the world on 20th March. It was first established by the United Nations General Assembly on 20th June 2012 promoting happiness as a fundamental human goal and called upon countries to improve public policies for the social and environmental well-being of all people.
If happiness is a fundamental human goal, why stop there? We often think happiness is it, however happiness lasts for a moment. What if we were to take it to a deeper level and we were then able to experience joy and with that joy we could also experience harmony, love and stillness? How would it feel if we all made joy part of our everyday way of living?
This short audio explains why happiness is an external experience whereas joy is something that comes from within and, if we were to understand the difference, we would never settle for happiness when we have experienced joy.
The difference between happiness and joy
You will never want to be happy if you have experienced joy.
"The soul is never happy in the human sense. It is however, in a state of permanent joy and knows no other state. It is never out of joy and harmony because it is a body of true Divine love."
