Fresh dairy free avocado smoothie
You wouldn’t believe this fresh avocado smoothie is dairy free. Quick to make for those moments when there aren’t any. All the ingredients simply go in the blender and voilà. Added bonus is it is full of nutrition with fibre to see you through anytime of the day.
Ingredients
- 1 ripe avocado
- 3 centimetres slice of telegraph cucumber cut into pieces
- ½ medium sized apple
- 1 teaspoon ground flax seeds
- large handful baby spinach, washed
- small handful parsley leaves, washed
- ½ cup almond milk
- ½ cup water
- ½ lemon, juiced
Method
- Remove the lid from the blender or food processor.
- Place all ingredients into the blender and place the lid on firmly.
- Turn the blender on and blend all the ingredients together so it is smooth and all broken down. For about 1-1 ½ minutes.
- Stop the blender, remove lid and with a spatula scrape down the sides.
- Have a taste of the smoothie and see if you feel it needs anything else added to it. If it is too thick you can add a little more almond milk or water.
- Place the lid back on firmly and blend for another minute or so.
- Take the blender off the base, remove the lid and pour slowly into a glass. If you feel to place a garnish with a straw into the smoothie then have some fun with it and you are ready to go.
Inspiration
- Add some blueberries for their antioxidant qualities whilst they are rich in vitamins at the same time.
